Absentee Affection
Postcards sent through the U.S. mail requesting surrogate affection.
With the habit of moving every couple of years, I find my community to be spread throughout the world. California, Oregon, Colorado, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Arkansas, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, France, Lebanon, Japan, Israel. I feel the distance between us growing. To gain a physical momento of a missed embrace, I send these postcards asking for participants to enact my affections in my place. The result is a physical document that has traveled between myself and the participants, as well as the experience of surrogacy.
